Central Bark Franchisees Jason and Gina Sedita set to combine their passion for dogs and their dream to own their own business.

Jason and Gina Sedita have always had entrepreneurial dreams. They recently fulfilled those ambitions after signing a franchise development agreement to bring the first Central Bark to Orange County, NY. For the husband and wife team, the journey into franchising was more than just the next step in their careers. It was the achievement of a lifelong dream. Now they can combine their love for dogs with ability to own their own business surrounded by them.

What They Think

“After a more than 21-year career as a New York State Trooper, six of which were with the canine unit, I knew I was ready to take my next step professionally,” said Jason. “Owning our own business was something we always knew we wanted to do. And now with Central Bark, I’m able to do that. I can combine my incredible passion for dogs and my experience in working with them, into a business. And that will provide a much needed service for our community.”

After considering starting a dog day care business on their own, Jason and Gina quickly realized the inherent difficulties of funding and starting a business from scratch.

“We thought about doing it ourselves, but we did not have the resources to scale it,” said Gina. “With Central Bark, we now have the resources, marketing, systems, training, and procedures in place to grow our business quickly. That level of experience and their operating history is immeasurable.”

Once open, Jason will assume day-to-day operations while Gina will provide ongoing support. Joining them in their new endeavor will be Rickie, their 9 year old Dutch Shepherd. Rickie was Jason’s partner while they served on the New York State Trooper’s Canine Unit.

“Ricky and I have been partners for a long time,” added Jason. “She’s as much a part of our family as anyone. We couldn’t imagine taking this next step in life without her right by our side.”
