Central Bark, the doggy day care industry pioneer, sets it sights on more than doubling its footprint over the next few years after closing out 2022 with a record-breaking performance. With multiple new signed franchise agreements, new locations that just opened and multiple new Central Barks set to open in the short term, we’re a brand on the move all while achieving continuous double digit sales increases year-over-year at the unit level.

Why the Pet Care Industry Continues to Grow

As consumers continue to spend in excess of $123 billion a year on pet care and with roughly 45% of households being dog owners, Central Bark is capitalizing on growing trends. Most recently, We have signed franchise agreements to bring additional locations to Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, and Illinois, among others. Even with accelerated growth, our goals remain fixed on finding highly focused and passionate franchisees who believe in our mission to forever nurture, enrich, and inspire whole health, happiness, and unconditional love for each dog, family, and community we serve.

Central Bark CEO Bob Crawford’s Take

“We are growing our footprint across the U.S. and every new community we’ve entered is extremely receptive to our brand,” said Bob Crawford, CEO of Central Bark. “We’re excited to bring Central Bark to new markets in 2023 while we remain hyper-focused on existing franchisee profitability and unit level economics while finding new franchise candidates to help us grow and spread our unique approach to whole dog care.”

Our Expanding Team

While expanding our nationwide footprint remains a key objective over the next few years, we are also dedicated to the expansion of our corporate team and service lines to diversify franchisee revenue streams. Part of that expanded corporate team includes the recently appointed Vice President of Franchise Development, Tim Weiderhoft, who will work to recruit, select, and qualify even more new franchisees across our system while building awareness and positioning for Central Bark in the pet care franchise space.

New Services

While dog day care remains at the core of our business, along with dog boarding, baths, grooming, a retail market, and training, We are constantly looking at ways to diversify our service lines and drive franchisee profitability. That is evident in our recent partnership with Embrace Pet Insurance, which extend our industry-leading approach to whole dog care even further.
